Reflections on Writing
In April, it was my turn in the guest’s chair for a podcast series. Mark Leslie (Lefebvre), author, editor and conference speaker well-known as former director of self-publishing and author relations at Kobo, interviewed me for his Stark Reflections podcast on writing and publishing. Topics we covered included indie publishing opportunities, re-releasing traditionally published titles and the reality of the “16 days” on bookstore shelves with Harlequin Silhouette. (You can hear my interview with Mark on the Authors Love Readers podcast.)
Her New Kentucky Home
Sheila Mackey’s plan for a new life is going great. She’s bought a house in northern Kentucky and adopted rescue collie Gracie. They’re spending a lot of time at the Torrid Avenue dog park and making new friends … until Gracie finds a body in Death on Torrid Avenue. Sheila untangles the secrets behind the murder, but her own secrets might be at risk from Teague O’Donnell, the new guy at the dog park. After a transatlantic cruise introduction, this Book 2 of my new Secret Sleuth cozy mystery series lands our heroine back on solid ground in Kentucky. Her accidental sleuthing continues in Book 3, Death on Beguiling Way, now available for pre-order exclusively at Apple Books.

It’s now available as an ebook at the major retailers for $2.99 or at my ebookstore for only 99 cents. You can also buy this reference book in paperback at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other booksellers, and it’s available for libraries and schools as well through Ingram.
.A New Direction
Death on the Diversion is Book 1 of my new Secret Sleuth cozy mystery series, inspired by my transatlantic cruise in 2017. Sheila Mackey is a young, aspiring writer who has been the secret public face of her great-aunt’s bestselling books. She has joined her great-aunt on a cruise aboard the Diversion as a transition into a new chapter in her life. When a passenger turns up dead, Sheila realizes she knows a whole lot more about the interactions of the victim and the suspects than the ship’s officials do.
Wedding Series Big Bundle
The seven romances of The Wedding Series are now available in an ebook boxed set called The Wedding Series: The Complete Series, out now at Apple Books, Barnes & Noble and Kobo. The bundle is not available on Amazon, but don’t worry, Kindle readers. You can get mobi format versions of The Complete Series directly at Patricia’s eBookstore here. The series starts with three stories of Chicago-area college friends embarking on the greatest education of all — falling in love. Book 4 takes readers to Wyoming with a runaway bride and Book 5 introduces a king in search of a long-lost granddaughter and a reluctant princess in Washington, D.C. In Books 6 and 7, royal matchmaking roils a small-town Wisconsin college basketball community and upends a Wyoming rancher who finds he may be destined for a crown instead of cowboy hat.
Be a Podcast Patron
Producing my Authors Love Readers podcast costs money, so I’ve set up a page on Patreon in hopes of support for hosting and recording expenses. Please help me put a dent in recording and storage costs so I can continue this conversation between authors about how and why they create the stories you love.
Proof in Print
Proof of Innocence is now available in paperback at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. This murder mystery/romantic suspense hybrid is set in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Its upcoming prequel, Price of Innocence, will move the action more to the fictional Fairlington County of northern Virginia across the river from Washington, D.C.
