Consumer Tip No. 103: Vital questions

In honor of my Caught Dead in Wyoming mystery series…

This consumer tip is from me, Patricia, because it reflects the thinking of Caught Dead in Wyoming main character Elizabeth “E.M.” Danniher’s about the importance of asking questions to get to the truth. 😉 This infographic provides pointers to avoid those purveying misinformation and disinformation – including by agents fomenting discord.

Two other points:

–Ask yourself who benefits and how.

–When using a site that says it assesses bias or facts, go another step with your questions. Search “Who is behind [name of site]” and “Who funds [name of site.]” A number of such sites are easily spotted as the products of partisan groups, which makes them unreliable sources for assessing anyone else’s partisanship. Some hide it better, but this is a simple way to weed out the obvious.

Here’s to asking questions!
