Tessa’s first Kentucky Derby
I don’t know if Tessa was trying to herd the horses or make them stop, but she sure got a kick out of watching the Kentucky Derby on TV. Though she did lose a bit of interest as long shot Rich Strike made a swift move on the rail to overtake the leaders. The handsome colt won, paid $163.60 to win on a $2 bet! The major upset represented the first Derby attempt — and victory! — for the owner, trainer and jockey.
